2024年是中国龙年。为了庆贺这个吉祥之年，国际钢琴大师郎朗将发行一张合辑《Year of the Dragon – Songs from China》，收录他为DG唱片公司录制的所有中国音乐，以此来庆祝他丰富的文化传统。

《Year of the Dragon – Songs from China》收录了《黄河之子(Dragon Songs)》专辑中的所有音乐，包括《黄河钢琴协奏曲》，以及开场曲《平湖秋月》——这是这位钢琴家点击量最高的流媒体曲目之一。

这张合辑还收录了谭盾的《八幅水彩画的回忆》和电影《夜宴》的完整配乐，《钢琴书》的... 精选曲目以及三首新录音——《雪花》《月儿明 — 东北摇篮曲》和《我爱你，中国》。其中《东北摇篮曲》的历史甚为悠久，这是一首来自中国东北（郎朗的家乡辽宁）的传统儿歌，由张朝改编，深受大众喜爱。“这首旋律把我带回了冬天寒冷的家乡，”郎朗说。“在爷爷奶奶家，我和弟兄姐妹听着这首优美的旋律入睡……”

这张合辑除了收录大量独奏曲目外，还收录了郎朗与其他多位世界知名艺术家合作的协奏曲、管弦乐作品。这些艺术家包括男高音安德烈·波切利、女高音雷佳、中国爱乐乐团/余隆、上海歌剧院合唱团、上海交响乐团/谭盾、布拉格交响乐团/亚历山大·德斯普拉特。
